Wisdom Quarterly supports "free speech radio" at Pacifica's KPFK.org
Tuesdays with Maury have now been replaced by midnight rendezvous with Roy "Rory" Tuckman, aka "Roy of Hollywood." This remarkable radio pioneer has kept British Zen Master Alan Watts' ordinary Dharma and everyday Zen alive for decades.
But that's not all his show, "Something's Happening," has done. He features hours of big name American Buddhist authors, teachers, and monastics. Pema Chodron, Shinzen Young, Sharon Salzberg, Robert Thurman, B. Alan Wallace, Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, and lots of titles from the "Sounds True" catalogue. The show is not limited to American Buddhists, of course.
D.T. Suzuki, the Dalai Lama, Matthieu Ricard, and others appear. It is all heard overnight Thursday into Friday and a brief Sunday morning shot of Alan Watts at 8:30 am in Los Angeles 90.7 FM). Other nights (12:00 to 5:00 am) feature alternative health authority Dr. Gary Null and others. And it is all simulcast worldwide over the Web at KPFK.org and archived for free download or free listening for 90 days following airing at Archive.KPFK.org.
