(Rezdoglatte) Breathing meditation with peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh filmed on retreat in Vietnam (below). English translation by Ven. Sr. Dang Nghiem, from the movie "Each of My Steps is a Prayer" [prayer being a kind of meditation, Latin meditatio in the Lecto Divina], Parallax Press DVD on "Mindful Living Every Day."
Practice bringing peace
Thich Nhat Hanh (born October 11, 1926) is a Buddhist monk, spiritual teacher, author, poet, and peace activist now based in France. He is the founder of the Order of Interbeing.
Detroit Lotus Sangha is a meditation group that meets every Sunday at Mejishi Martial Arts. The group follows the Zen teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and one of his more than 90 books on Zen Buddhism. Sitting meditation, walking meditation, Dharma talks.
Dharma-Logged! (Along The Way)
How many visiting teachers, practitioners, Zen masters, and sanghas pump out books, charging for the Dharma, spouting opinion as truth, and engaging in all out "My Buddhism is better than your Buddhism" playground-wars? Too many! Not to knock the advancement of knowledge through shared mass information entirely. But the last time I checked, the Buddha sat under a Bodhi tree, not under Barnes & Nobles track lighting on his quest for enlightenment. Admittedly, had it not been for discovering books by Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dalai Lama, I may have never found Buddhism. However, when every Zen-Yoga-Meditation-Tantra Center around is about buying things to find the path to enlightenment, I call foul.
