Iran announces it has a flying saucer

Until recently, Iran bordered India and was possibly where the future Buddha grew up. Iran's Fars News Agency released this depiction.

Theocratic Iran claims it has developed an “unmanned flying saucer.” But any fear or trembling this monumental technological advance was meant to inspire [since the US military is already in possession of many both captured and reverse-engineered] was quickly undone by the unfortunate artwork that Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency chose for the story.

Unveiled at an exhibition of “strategic technologies,” Ayatollah Ali Khomeini is said to have given his approval. Iran has named its spacecraft Zohal (Persian, “Saturn”). Its mission, like that of ancient vimana or spacecraft from the celestial deva realms, is to watch everything. The saucer is equipped with aerial photographic and reconnaissance equipment and is even able to fly indoors, whereas devas (Sanskrit for "shining ones") have technology able to read minds.

Skeptics prefer a conflicting report from the Iranian Student News Agency depicting a quadrocopter with a low tech camera and GPS navigation. Iran revealed radar-proof flying boats as seen on CNN. More at PopSci.com
