Sri Lanka Small Miracle (video)

Sri Lanka is a Buddhist nation off the southern tip of India, near the Maldives. It is predominantly Theravada, very tropical, and quite literally a "small miracle." It is a favorite spot of British, German, and Dutch tourists but rarely visited by Americans. It fought a long civil war with Hindu extremists (the Tamil Tigers), but peace has now been permanently restored. In spite of political unrest, meditation and a Buddhist monastic tradition extending back thousands of years continued. It is now safely open to all visitors again.
